St. Joseph senior Jake Hansen finished second out of 145 runners in 16 minutes, 58 seconds - six seconds behind Jajuan Tyler of Racine St. Catherine's. "Jake has had a great senior year," St. Joseph coach Jon Furreness said.St. Joseph senior Matt Bronk also won All-MCC honors with a seventh-place finish (17:30).John Kolanko (23rd, 18:29), Sean Gallagher (28th, 18:42) and Ryne Scopp (29th, 18:45) were all in the top 30 to round out the Lancer scoring."We were hoping to be a little closer to Brookfield Academy," Furreness said. "We'll see them again at the sectional next week."
For the girls, Katie Loef finished 10th with a time of 17:12 to lead the Lancer Girls. Katie was also named to the All-MCC Team. Battling illness, Katherine Wajrowski finished 13th in 17:31 forthe girls and Maggie Beal was 14th in 17:32.
What a truly wonderful weekend it was for the likeable sophomore Amabda Dick as she became the first tennis player in St. Joseph history to medal. Amanda won over plenty of fans in the process in taking fourth place at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division-2 State Individual Tournament. The two-time State qualifier lost to top-seed and eventual champion Caroline Starck of Williams Bay-Big Foot 6-1, 6-1 in the semifinal before falling to third-seed Rachel Vrabec (26-2) of Xavier 6-1, 6-3 in the third-place match. While it was a tough ending, Dick (19-3) closed out the finest season in school history.

He will be a good player at the college level. Plus, he's strong physically. "Collins and Kris O'Toole hooked up again, this time in the 45th minute, before CLS got a goal from J.J. Ventura (Philippe Duplessy assist) in the 50th minute. Six minutes later, Collins closed the Lancers' scoring with an unassisted goal. CLS accounted for the final with a goal by Ventura and an assist by Dan Rozema in the 72nd minute. St. Joseph outshot CLS 21-10 and had Joe Parise and Steve Gadjos split time in goal. The Lancers are 15-6 overall and 8-4 in the MCC. CLS dropped to 3-14 and 1-8 in MCC. The Lancers finish there home season at 7pm on Wednesday.
St. Joseph limited 0-6 Hope to seven first downs and 118 yards in total offense."Defensively, we played well," Kenesie said. "We held them to under 100 yards rushing. When that happens, it is a total team effort. I am pleased with that."
St. Joseph High School Girls Tennis Team will be sending 4 to Individual STATE Tennis Meet in Madison, Wisconsin starting Thursday October 16 and going through to Saturday October 18th.
and they pulled it together to work as a doubles team. The results have been wonderful for her and Bridget. This “special qualifier” STATE match is very special for me as the coach at SJHS. To see any of the seniors get a chance at STATE is everything for the tennis team, the parents, the players and the school. All the hard work Jordan, Bridget, Gina and Amanda have done since conference has truly paid off for each one of them and for the 2008 SJHS girls’ tennis team. They are very proud of themselves to represent their High School and the City of Kenosha in Madison October 16, 17, and the 18th. Kenosha all around has excellent tennis opportunities and it has shown off in the representation from all 3 High Schools(Bradford, Tremper and St. Joseph) here in Kenosha.

The 5’7” point guard averaged just under 20 points and 10 rebounds in her last two seasons and was named Lakeshore Conference Player of the Year last year as a junior. Coach Brendon Plowe is excited to be starting his first year at St. Joseph's with a player like Erin. “Erin’s work ethic is what seperates her from many other players. She is constantly in the gym working on all aspects of her game and has really worked hard to get her game ready for the next level,” Coach Plowe said. That hard work includes playing for the Full Package Lady Lightning Elite AAU team in the offseason. When asked if she's relieved to have her decision finalized before the season, Erin said she is more happy than relieved. However, Coach Plowe believes her early decision will allow Erin to focus on her senior season and enjoy it as well. “Erin has been a key component at St. Joe’s over the years, which is evident from her stats. She is a special player and I am looking forward to watching her play her senior season. She will continue to contribute to our team’s overall direction and success.”

The Cross Country team travels to Shorewood Saturday October 11th for a varsity invitational. Race time is 10:00am
The Volleyball team will be in action Thursday night October 9th, on the road against The Prairie School. The JV game will begin at 5:30 and the Varsity game is set for 6:30.
