State Cross Country

Division-3

St. Joseph seniors Jake Hansen (16th in 16:59.1) and Matt Bronk (44th in 17:31.0) both enjoyed top-50 finishes.

“An excellent way to close out their cross country careers,” St. Joseph coach Jon Furreness said. “Jake’s goal was to run under 17 (minutes). The top 20 was a basic goal for him, and top-10 would have been great. He was right there with the lead group for much of the race.

“Matt was out real strong, had a little trouble in the middle and came back strong at the finish.”

Hansen was a two-time State qualifier, with Bronk making his State debut.
